Bring us an advanced degree related to toxicology and we\u2019ll give you the opportunity to develop professionally, working with and learning from some talented scientists in our Shell Health Toxicology team.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the role?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Working alongside and learning from more senior colleagues, this is a role with great scope to develop. Part of our well-respected Shell Health team (based in The Hague), you\u2019ll build your knowledge of Shell \u2013 our products, how we work, what drives us as a business \u2013 and learn to apply your toxicology expertise to help us operate safely and to bring new products to market.<\/p>\n

Focusing on a limited group of products, you\u2019ll deliver toxicology hazard assessments and develop inputs for human health risk assessments, in particular by using physiological-based biokinetic modelling. You\u2019ll also update documents, review literature and support the hazard communication process by verifying that toxicology statements are current and accurate.<\/p>\n

The challenge will be to adapt to working with complexity and ambiguity, and to the pace of life here \u2013 delivering to fixed deadlines is a key part of the job. It\u2019s not a backroom role: you can look forward to liaising with many different colleagues across Shell including product stewards and HSSE professionals and, externally, with inter-industry and academic peers.<\/p>\n

What we need from you <\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u2019re keen to talk to men and women who have an advanced degree in: Toxicology, Biology, Medicine, Pharmacy or a related field and ideally a PhD in Toxicology. Whilst professional experience, (preferably in oil and gas) would be an asset, you could join us straight from academic study or research.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll call on the ability to use computer models for Toxicology applications, in particular, experience with Physiologically-based Biokinetic Modelling. It would be an advantage if you have insight into global chemicals regulations (including EU REACH and TSCA), and hazard communication (GHS) or other HSE regulatory requirements. If not, we\u2019ll give you the training you need.<\/p>\n

This is a role that hinges on the relationships you cultivate with stakeholders across the business and with your own team. We\u2019re looking for:
\nGood communication and influencing skills (in English).
\nA proven ability to express technical ideas and opinions clearly and concisely.
\nThe personal qualities to work well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
