It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2018 joint meeting of the Belgian and Dutch Environmental Mutagen Society.<\/p>\n

Communicating toxicology: What\u2019s the risk?
\n<\/strong>Thursday November 29, 2018
\nVlaams-Europees Verbindingsagentschap, Kortenberglaan 71, Brussels<\/p>\n

Scientists and risk assessors generate valid and robust data, which should allow risk managers and policy makers to take measures to ensure safe use of medicines, chemicals, cosmetics and food ingredients. However, we should\u00a0recognise that humans are hardwired to feel first and think second, so how biased are our recommendations, and, even more importantly, how do we get our message across.
\nDuring this symposium, keynote lectures will address scientific and regulatory issues in the field of GMO\u2019s, pharmaceutical drugs, cosmetics and plant protection products. During a workshop, the participants can experience and\u00a0learn how media works and highlight the hazards, exposure, risks, harm-benefit balances and residual uncertainties.<\/p>\n

How would you communicate your research results to the general public?!<\/strong>
\nWe invite PhD students, postdocs and scientist to demonstrate how they would communicate their research results to the general public in a pitch presentation and\/or poster session.<\/p>\n

To submit an abstract for the BEMS\/DEMS symposium 2018 please mail to belgian.dutch.ems@gmail.com<\/u>, with \"ABSTRACT\" in the subject of your E-mail, by the 5th of November 2018.<\/u><\/p>\n


\n<\/u>Please also complete the abstract submission form (https:\/\/goo.gl\/forms\/Lqq9eHd851C3Ujw73<\/a>) , which also contains the instructions on how to prepare the abstract.
\n<\/u>The acceptance of your abstract will be confirmed by e-mail on the 16th of November 2018. Presenters of accepted abstracts will be allowed to register under early bird registration fee before the 23rd of November 2018.<\/p>\n
