We are looking for<\/h2>\n

At the Division of Toxicology, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced analytical chemical technical assistant. This assistant will perform analytical chemical analyses essential to our work on molecular-driven, mechanistic understanding of toxicological processes related to human and environmental health and their translation into risk assessment for man and the environment.<\/p>\n

We ask<\/h2>\n

You are an enthusiastic and experienced analytical chemical technical assistant, who is dedicated to research and education in food- and environmental toxicology and also a keen team player.
\nYou also have:
\n\u2022\u00a0A higher-level qualification in life sciences or toxicology (minimum HBO- or MSc-level, PhD level is preferred).
\n\u2022\u00a0Solid theoretical- and practical knowledge of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC), Liquid Chromatography \u2013Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and Gas Chromatography\u2013Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), including several years of experience in applying these techniques within biological- or toxicological research.
\n\u2022\u00a0Experience or affinity with tissue culture, microbiological and biochemical\/molecular methods, or the willingness to acquire these skills.
\n\u2022\u00a0Published work (for example as co-author) that illustrates your experience in the field and ability to generate output-driven results.
\n\u2022\u00a0Proactive team skills, willing to take responsibility for day-to-day functioning of laboratory facilities and with the additional ability to solve technical problems independently.
\n\u2022\u00a0Experience in course management and teaching at undergraduate\/graduate levels, as well as supervision of BSc\/MSc thesis students is desirable.
\n\u2022\u00a0An excellent command of the English language, both orally and in writing, and preferably an excellent command of the Dutch language in addition.<\/p>\n

The Division of Toxicology is an enthusiastic and dynamic academic research group. Our research is performed by 4 academic staff members, 4 technical assistants and over 20 international PhD students. We have a strong national and international reputation in our scientific field. Our research is focused on molecular-driven, mechanistic techniques in food and environmental toxicology. On the basis of mechanistic understanding, relevant toxicological processes are translated into risk analyses for evaluation in human health and ecological processes. The Division of Toxicology actively contributes to globally relevant topics, such as: alternatives to animal testing, human stem cell models, safety evaluation of food ingredients, biocides, nanotoxicology, contaminants in the food chain; in silico methods for toxicological risk assessment. Our education is embedded in the BSc\/MSc programmes for Food Safety, Nutrition and Health, Molecular Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Biology and a combination of lectures and practicals.<\/p>\n
