The program of the ESTIV2018 conference<\/b> (15-18 October 2018; Berlin-Germany) is taking shape, and is continuously updated online (http:\/\/www.estiv2018.com\/programme\/scientific-programme\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The conference will be preceded by 2 free workshops:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2022 Adverse outcome pathways: an essential tool for in vitro<\/i> toxicology.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Good in vitro<\/i> method practices\/good cell culture practice.<\/p>\n

The conference will consist of 8 thematic sessions:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2022 Bio-engineering and stem cell models.
\n\u2022 Disease models and translational toxicology.
\n\u2022 Models, biomarkers and assays for systemic toxicity testing.
\n\u2022 In silico<\/i> modelling and read-across approaches.
\n\u2022 New developments in inhalation toxicity testing.
\n\u2022 New developments in local toxicity and skin sensitization testing.
\n\u2022 Updates and developments in regulatory toxicology.
\n\u2022 Toxicokinetics and in vitro-in vivo<\/i> extrapolation.<\/p>\n

There will be several special ses<\/b>sions:<\/b><\/div>\n
\u2022 Continuous poster session.<\/div>\n
\u2022 Keynote lecture.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 Bj\u00f6rn Ekwall award ceremony and lecture.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 2 student sessions (oral presentations and career session).<\/div>\n
\u2022 2 project sessions (EuToxRisk and In3).<\/div>\n
\u2022 2 lunch sessions (research on alternatives to animal testing and updates from the Japanese society for alternatives to animal experiments).<\/div>\n
\u2022 4 general assembly sessions (ESTIV, CAAT-Europe, the German Toxicology Society and the\u00a0Scandinavian Society<\/span> for Cell Toxicology).<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
Attendees will get the opportunity to participate in a practical hands-on postconference workshop<\/b> focused on:<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 In vitro<\/i> skin irritation testing.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 Organ-on-a-chip modelling.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 In silico<\/i> physiologically based kinetic modelling and quantitative in vitro-in vivo<\/i> extrapolation.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
Submission of abstracts<\/b> for oral or poster presentations to any of the 8 thematic sessions is possible until 17 June 2018<\/b>(http:\/\/www.estiv2018.com\/registration-abstracts\/abstract-submission\/<\/a>). All ESTIV2018 participants will be invited to submit an original research manuscript or review paper to be taken into consideration for the ESTIV2018 proceedings<\/b> that will be published in the journal Toxicology In Vitro.<\/i><\/div>\n

In order to promote the participation of youngsters, a total of 8 student travel bursaries<\/b> are provided. In addition, young participants can sign up for 3 best poster presentation awards<\/b> and 1 best oral presentation award<\/b> (http:\/\/www.estiv2018.com\/registration-abstracts\/bursaries-and-grants\/<\/a>).<\/div>\n
